Passes the Instructions to the officials to gear up for the day of National importance in a smooth manner Distributes track suits to government school students participating in cultural activities Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, January 22, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Mrs Ashika Jain reviewed the preparations for the Republic Day to be celebrated on January 26 at Shaheed Major (Shourya Chakra) Harminderpal Singh Government College, Phase 6, Mohali by holding a meeting at the college ground today. Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha, S. Kultar Singh Sandhwa to hoist the national flag. She reviewed the preparations made by all the officers according to the responsibilities assigned to them and said that no stone should be left unturned in the smooth observance of the day of National importance. She said that Independence Day and Republic Day are the most important days of our country, from which we carry the legacy of the freedom fighters and great martyrs who contributed to the freedom struggle and later on the contribution of those visionaries who implemented the constitution to make it a republic. She said that this day will always remind our young generation and children of how much the people of India have loved their country. On this occasion, she reviewed the traffic and security arrangements, progress of the rehearsals of the cultural event by the school children, the preparation of the march past by the police and NCC cadets, the arrangements to be made for them to sit in view of the cold, during the event. She discussed the progress made by the departments in detail about the tableau based on the development and welfare schemes. The Deputy Commissioner said that gallantry award winners and the freedom fighters who made extraordinary contributions in the country’s freedom struggle and their families will be welcomed by the district administration open heartedly. She appealed that freedom fighters/family are invited to participate in the function. Mrs Ashika Jain also distributed 321 track suits on behalf of the District Red Cross Society to the students of government schools participating in cultural event to avoid cold. During the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioners, Viraj S Tidke, Anmol Singh Dhaliwal, Sonam Chaudhary, SP Traffic HS Mann, SDM Mohali Damandeep Kaur, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Dipankar Garg, Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr Ankita Kansal and officials of other departments of the district were present.
